Moka Origins

Jeff Abella and his business partner, Ishan Tingunait, spent a decade living and working in Cameroon before starting Moka Origins, which was inspired by their desire to enable cacao and coffee farmers to earn fair wages.
Commodity chocolate (and coffee) is about low quality for low cost, and the people who are hurt the most by this unfortunate supply chain model are farmers. Jeff and Ishan are on a mission to create a more equitable and sustainable supply chain that puts the well-being of farmers first.
The Moka motto is “Buy a bar. Change a life.” They plant one tree for every product sold, have created farmer training schools, and reinvest a large portion of their profits back into communities in Cameroon. One day soon, Jeff and Ishan hope to incorporate more Cameroon crops into their products.

2nd impression led to obsession

I have to admit, the first time I tasted this one, I wasn't in love. I decided to give it another try and each time I eat another square, I find my mouth missing the taste when it's gone. I love the dance between the dark chocolate and strawberry. The taste is exquisite and the beautiful, hand-crafted hearts on the back are a fun, unexpected expression of love.
