Idilio Origins


Idilio Origins founders Nicklaus Blumer and Pascal Wirth discovered that just like with fine wines, the unique location or “terroir” , has a major effect on the aroma and flavor profile of cacao fruit and the beans encased within it. Idilio specializes in seeking out plantations in Venezuela where the most exquisite beans are cultivated, working closely with farmers for the best results.

In traditional Swiss chocolate crafting, the aroma potential of the cocoa beans is harmonized into the chocolate. The delicate and luxurious melting quality of Idilio’s chocolate is achieved through a unique combination of fine rolling and traditional conching. Their mission is to create dark “Château” chocolates for gourmets.

The Spanish word “Idilio” means a short poem that celebrates the romance of life close to nature…a sweet experience or gem. There is a sweet and highly pleasurable experience inherent in every Idilio Origins chocolate bar. I invite you to taste it for yourself.
