Happy New Year Chocolate Enthusiasts!

What are your thoughts on choosing a “word of the year” as a guide for the next 358 days? This practice called to me in the earliest days of 2022 and I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I’m feeling a sense of excitement both personally and professionally with these shiny new words by my side.

Words are powerful, and I wanted just the right ones, so I got very quiet and allowed words to choose me. There’s a personal word for Nadine, my husband and I opened our hearts and minds to welcome a couples’ word, and today a word has alighted upon Barometer Chocolate.

The Barometer Chocolate word for 2022 is FRUITFUL.

I love this word for Barometer Chocolate for so many reasons. Cacao, my Muse, is, of course, a luscious fruit that grows just 20 degrees north or south of the equator. The word feels juicy and abundant enough to take a bite out of it. I’m envisioning a tree dripping with cacao pods and possibilities, juice dribbling down my chin, and a smile on my face that extends from ear to ear. Fruitful can be messy and imperfect, but also promises to be bountiful and exuberant. I like the sound, feel and fit of all of it.

Barometer Chocolate is still in her infancy. She has so much exciting growth ahead of her and I can’t wait to help her call forth the rich resources at her disposal so she may bear beautiful and surprising fruit for all of us in the year to come.
