Have you ever eaten a lightly toasted, buttered baguette with pieces of chocolate on it? If not, give it a try, or instead, simply reach for Josh Chocolates Simply Milk 48% Chocolate Bar, which is reminiscent of that divine treat. Josh Chocolates uses cacao beans from Hacienda San Jose in Ecuador and his recipe and roasting technique, yield a rich chocolate with notes of buttered baguette and caramelized sugar. It’s truly luscious!
Josh calls his chocolate “approachable” and I heartily concur. It’s very accessible to the palate and well-suited to all chocolate lovers…rookies, kids and connoisseurs! This would be a lovely bar to enjoy as the final taste in a flight of chocolates, or as a delectable dessert to break apart and share around the table with friends and family after a meal. Everyone will enjoy it!
Josh McCain of Josh Chocolates is a local gem. Like me, he lives and works in New Jersey, and I’m so glad he’s my friend! Josh is both a bean-to-bar maker, as well as a chocolatier. He is a classically trained chef as well as a graduate of the pastry program at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC. He has worked in some of New York City’s finest restaurants including Loring Place and Union Square Hospitality Group.
Josh started his own chocolate company in March 2021 and I’m super excited to enjoy more of his yummy creations as his chocolate path continues to unfold. Fun fact about Josh: he is a 19-year military veteran with multiple combat deployments and recipient of the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medals. He’s raising four young boys with his fiancé by his side, and when he’s not playing with chocolate or kids, he’s training for triathlons!
